Parliament has given final approval to the bill proposed by Ministers Orlando and Franceschini, “Delegation to the Government and other provisions relating to entertainment,” which radically modifies the current legislation by granting workers in the sector protections and rights, as well as greater stability and quality of career paths.

The measure delegates the Government to adopt one or more legislative decrees aimed at reorganizing the regulatory provisions governing employment in the entertainment industry. The measure aims to provide the sector with a more effective, organic structure, compliant with the principles of simplifying administrative procedures, as well as promoting gender balance and improving the artistic and cultural quality of activities. Specifically, the plan includes the reorganization and revision of support tools, new protections regarding employment contracts and fair compensation for self-employed workers, and the introduction of a severance pay, a structural and permanent benefit to ensure coverage for entertainment workers during periods of inactivity or study and training.

Furthermore, INPS will activate, through its portal, specific information and communication services for members of the Entertainment Workers Pension Fund, to facilitate access to benefits and online services.
